Robert Masson, MD, founder of Gulf Breeze, Fla.-based NeuroSpine Institute, has returned from Survivor Summit to support LIVESTRONG, according to a blog post by Marc Middleton, founder and CEO of Bolder Broadcasting and Growing Bolder.
A team of 16 members, including cancer survivors and advocates from the cancer community, participated in Survivor Summit and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Dr. Masson, a former spinal cord injury patient, participated in the climb to honor his sister, a 20-year cancer survivor, and his father, who passed away recently after a long battle with prostate cancer.
Dr. Masson is a neurosurgeon focusing on spinal injury and sports spine medicine. He has had special training in microneurosurgery and minimally invasive spine surgery at University of Florida in Gainesville.
