Peter P. Sun, MD, earned a 2017 Top Doctor Award in Oakland, Calif.

2. Dr. Sun serves as a pediatric neurosurgeon at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland.
3. He is also affiliated with San Francisco-based Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Walnut Creek, Calif.-based John Muir Medical Center and Reno, Calif.-based Renown Medical Center.
4. Equipped with a 26-year clinical career, Dr. Sun specializes in treating brain tumors, hydrocephalus and craniosynostosis as well as spinal conditions.
5. The John S. and Sherry H. Chen foundation named Dr. Sun an Endowed Chair of Neurosurgery.
6. He is a fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
7. Dr. Sun completed his pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
