Spine surgeon Max Franco De Carvalho, MD, joined HaysMed of the University of Kansas Health System in Hays, according to the Hays Post.
Here are five things to know:
1. Dr. De Carvalho received his medical degree from the Federal University of Sergipe in Brazil. He underwent fellowship training in spine surgery at the Klinikum Karlsbad Langensteinbach in Germany and minimally invasive spine surgery at Wooridul Spine Hospital in South Korea.
2. Dr. De Carvalho completed advanced fellowship training in orthopedic trauma at the New Mexico University in Albuquerque, in spine surgery at Twin Cities Spine Center in Minneapolis and in pediatric orthopedics at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
3. He has conducted research in Brazil and the U.S., and has been published in a variety of orthopedic books and journals. He focuses on spine surgery, orthopedic trauma, pediatric and general orthopedics.
4. Dr. De Carvalho joins Timothy Wright, MD, Gulraiz Cheema, MD, and Wally Walstrom, MD, at Hays Orthopedic Institute.
5. Dr. De Carvalho is fluent in English, Portuguese, German and Spanish.
