Advanced Pain Management and Neurology Clinic in Valencia, Calif., will now offer percutaneous endoscopic laser discectomy consultations.
Three notes:
1. Narinder Grewal, MD, founded the practice 20-plus years ago. He may recommend a percutaneous endoscopic laser discectomy after thoroughly examining patients.
2. For some patients, percutaneous endoscopic laser discectomy helps relieve chronic lower back pain. The minimally invasive procedure is an alternative to other conservative therapies and epidural injections.
3. The outpatient procedure involves inserting a needle into the disc space and burning nucleus pulposus in the area with a laser beam. It is marketed as a more cost-effective option than open-back surgery or microdiscectomy.
