The most recent efforts of Johnny Delashaw, MD, the former chair of the Seattle-based Swedish Neuroscience Institute, to remove restrictions from his medical license were squashed, according to a report in the Seattle Times.
The Washington Medical Commission suspended Dr. Delashaw's license in 2017 after the Seattle Times published an investigation of the neuroscience unit he led. The commission later found "unprofessional conduct" that may have affected patient care. His license was later reinstated with restrictions, and he is no longer able to hold medical leadership positions.
Dr. Delashaw appealed the restrictions on his license as well as oversight and a fine, but a judge denied that request, upholding the Washington Medical Commission's restrictions.
