Ian Madom, MD, spine surgeon and cofounder of MyMOC, launched the MOCingbird app on March 12 to help medical professionals keep up to date with their education requirements, reports Street Insider.
The free app aims to save providers time by managing Maintenance of Certification and Continuing Medical Education requirements and allowing them to take courses on their mobile devices.
Dr. Madom, of Ortho Rhode Island in East Greenwich, thought of the idea while studying for his master's degree in business administration at Yale School of Management in New Haven, Conn.
He worked with George Fernaine, MD, chief of cardiology at NYU Brooklyn in New York City, to develop the app.
