Omar Ishrak on April 26 retired as Medtronic CEO and transitioned to executive chairman, after a nine-year stint as head of the medical device company. Geoff Martha took over as CEO April 27.
Preston Wells became vice president of investor relations at Stryker June 1. He replaced Katherine Owen, who has worked at Stryker for the past 13 years. She transitioned to advisor to the CEO until March 30, 2021, when she will retire.
Fred McQueary, MD, spine surgeon and executive vice president and chief clinical officer at Mercy, is retiring at the end of June to help the Chesterfield, Mo.-based health system address financial losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The board of managers at orthobiologics company Bioventus unanimously appointed Ken Reali to succeed Tony Bihl as CEO upon Mr. Bihl's April 20 retirement.
Ashtin Neuschaefer on May 4 was appointed executive director of the Scoliosis Research Society, following in the footsteps of Tressa Goulding, who served in the role for 26 years. Ms. Goulding retired after 30 years with the organization.
