Dr. Ben Carson 1 of 6 White House staffers to test positive for COVID-19 after election party

Ben Carson, MD, has tested positive for COVID-19  after he attended the election night watch party at the White House on Nov. 3, CBS Baltimore reports.

What you should know:

1. Dr. Carson, 69, a former neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, is one of six staffers to attend the event and test positive for the virus, including White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

2. He is the Trump administration's U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary.

3. Dr. Carson is said to be in good spirits and "doing extraordinarily well," according to a Nov. 9 tweet from his brother, Armstrong Williams.
