Intraoperative neuromonitoring services company Assure Holdings has appointed Isador Lieberman, MD, to its medical advisory committee.
Dr. Lieberman and surgeons from Plano-based Texas Back Institute will collaborate with Assure to study how intraoperative neuromonitoring affects safety, efficacy and outcomes during complex and invasive surgeries.
"Given the significance insurance companies put on data-driven studies, we believe the clinical research we produce will help support our revenue cycle management team and act as a catalyst for the signing of new in-network agreements," Assure CEO John Farlinger said in a March 18 news release.
Dr. Lieberman, president of Texas Back Institute's scoliosis and spinal tumor program, said he will work with Assure to "produce data-driven studies on the impact of intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring."
He has developed several instruments and implants for spine surgery and is involved in research relating to clinical outcomes in spine surgery, robotics, biomechanics and disc replacement technologies.
Assure's medical advisory committee is chaired by former neurosurgeon Chris Rumana, MD, who is also independent director of the company.
