Three spine surgeons published a book focusing on healthcare education.
Philip Louie, MD, worked with Michael McCarthy, MD, and Todd Albert, MD, to edit The Successful Health Care Professional’s Guide: Everything You Need to Know But Weren’t Taught in Training, according to an April 28 email to Becker's.
The book examines overlooked areas of professional training and aims to prepare graduates for the "real world," the email said. Chapters in the book include topics on setting goals, maintaining personal relationships and avoiding burnout.
Dr. Louie is a surgeon at Seattle-based Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, Dr. McCarthy is with Indiana Spine Group in Carmel and Dr. Albert practices at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery.
