George Theodore, MD, team physician for the New England Patriots, recently performed arthroscopic ankle surgery on tight end Rob Gronkowski's left ankle at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, according to a report from The Republican.
Mr. Gronkowski injured his ankle in earlier this year during the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens, but waited until after he appeared in the Super Bowl a few weeks later to undergo surgery. Dr. Theodore performed arthroscopic surgery to repair ligament damage as a result of the injury.
Recovery time will be around 10 weeks, according to the report.
