Russell Warren, MD (Hospital for Special Surgery, New York City). Dr. Warren's research involves static and dynamic control of shoulder and knee stability, design of shoulder replacement systems and a study of soft tissue healing and methods to promote cell migration. He has received the AOSSM's O'Donoghue Award for sports medicine research multiple times. He has been a surgeon-in-chief at the Hospital for Special Surgery for nearly two decades. Dr. Warren's areas of interest include shoulder and knee instability, ligament reconstruction, treatment for rotator cuff diseases and joint replacement. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Warren serves as a professor of orthopedic surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. He received the Richard O'Connor Research Award at the Arthroscopy Association of North America annual meeting. Dr. Steadman received this award for his paper titled "Ten Year Survivorship Following Knee Arthroscopy in Patients With Moderate to Severe Osteoarthritis of the Knee." He has also developed the arthroscopic treatment package for patients with osteoarthritis who want to remain more active than a total knee replacement would allow.
