Curtis Dickman, MD, of Barrow Neurosurgical Associates in Phoenix, has performed successful spine surgery on the Toronto Blue Jay's former player David Cooper, according to an ESPN MLB report. Dr. Dickman performed the surgery to repair herniated discs in the thoracic region of the infielder's spine.
Robert Watkins, MD, of the Marina Spine Center in Marina del Rey, Calif., was among the specialists that led the player to Dr. Dickman.
Mr. Cooper, now a free agent, is expected to be able to begin baseball activity again in July.
