Orthopedist Compensation in 2012 vs. 2011: 5 Statistics

Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Compensation decreased by 10 percent or more than 10 percent for orthopedists from 2011 to 2012, according to the Medscape's 2013 Orthopedist Compensation Report.

The report is based on responses from nearly 22,000 physicians.

 

When asked how their compensation had changed between 2011 and 2012, respondents reported the following:

 

•    Decreased by more than 10 percent — 20 percent
•    Decreased by as much as 10 percent — 19 percent
•    Remained the same — 32 percent
•    Increased by up to 10 percent — 22 percent
•    Increased by more than 10 percent — 6 percent
