Orthopedic surgeons who are partners in their work setting earn more than orthopedists in any other work situation, according to the Medscape's 2013 Orthopedist Compensation Report.
The report is based on responses from nearly 22,000 physicians.
According to the report, orthopedists in the following work situations earn:
• Partner — $480,000
• Owner (solo practice) — $405,000
• Employee — $347,000
• Independent contractor — 250,000
