Charles L. Saltzman, MD, was named president of the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons, according to an AAOS Now report.
Dr. Saltzman is the chairman of orthopedics at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where he serves as the LS Peer Presidential Endowed Professor. He has a special interest in foot and ankle injuries as well as sports injuries. During his career, Dr. Saltzman has contributed to the development of new treatment for ankle arthritis, midfoot arthritis, ankle/hindfoot arthroscopy and forefoot problems.
In addition to his clinical career, Dr. Saltzman has been director of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, vice president of the International Federation of Foot and Ankle Specialties and past president of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
