The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons released new appropriate use criteria and a mobile app for the treatment of pediatric supracondylar humerus fractures in children.
The AAOS AUCs provides clinicians with algorithms on how to optimally treat an orthopedic injury or condition. Optimal treatment for pediatric elbow fractures may require the surgical placement of a pin to hold the realigned bones or nonsurgical treatment with a cast or splint.
The app, which includes three sections and can be accessed on a computer, mobile device or tablet, provides clinicians with the AUC for pediatric elbow fractures.
