Thomas Byrd, MD, performed hip surgery on Oakland A's first baseman and outfielder Brandon Moss, according to an SF Gate report.
Mr. Moss suffered from a dull ache last season that became worse. He was able to continue playing with a cortisone shot and decided to undergo surgery after the season ended. Dr. Byrd was prepared to perform microfracture surgery, but only needed to perform a labrum repair and cartilage clean up, according to the report.
