Jon Dickinson, MD, board chairman of Presidio Surgery Center in San Francisco, has been named the new team orthopedist for the Oakland Athletics after a lawsuit separated the club from its former team physician, according to an Oakland A's news release.
Dr. Dickinson is also an associate clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of California in San Francisco. He earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed his training at UCSF.
The club also named Will Workman, MD, of Walnut Creek (Calif.) Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, as associate team orthopedist. Dr. Workman is the orthopedic team physician for the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at Harvard University in Boston.
