Andrew W. Gurman, MD, has taken up his new role as president of the American Medical Association.

 

Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai named Mark Vrahas, MD, as the founding chair of its new orthopedics department.

 

Eugene, Ore.-based Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine appointed Brian A. Jewett, MD, practice president of the center.

 

Arthroscopy Association of North America named orthopedic surgeon John C. Richmond, MD, president.

 

Charlotte, N.C.-based OrthoCarolina named Bruce Cohen, MD, CEO.

 

Detroit Medical Center named Khaled J. Saleh, MD, executive-in-chief of the DMC Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine service line.

 

The Connecticut Orthopaedic Society honored John Fulkerson, MD, with the 2016 Orthopedist of the Year award.

 

The Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America selected Derek Kelly, MD, as a traveling fellow.

 

Indiana University Health Goshen named David Koronkiewicz, DO, the inaugural medical director of quality.
