Here are 12 orthopedic surgeons in the news this past week.

Orthopedic surgeon Nikhil Verma, MD, was selected to be the director of sports medicine for the department of orthopedic surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

 

Terry Canale, MD, was awarded a lifetime achievement award from the Memphis Business Journal.

 

Norton County Hospital, Kan., recently added Gregory Sarin, MD, to its staff.

 

Garner, N.C.-based Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic welcomed Jaime Pedraza, MD, to its staff.

 

Great Basin Orthopaedics in Reno, Nev., added Michael Lilyquist, MD, to its physician team.

 

Huntington, W.V.-based Marshal University's Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine welcomed James L. Thomas, DPM.

 

Sacramento-based Surgical Affiliates Management Group named Pamela Mehta, MD, the newly created role of orthopedic surgery chief.

 

Frederick, Md.-based American Spine expanded its sports medicine team by welcoming Tina Cervieri, MD.

 

Christopher Ahmad, MD, will perform Tommy John surgery on Yankees left-hander Jacob Lindgren.
