Possibly coming to a TV near you: LeBron James and Dr. James Andrews developing sports medicine pilot: 4 takeaways

LeBron James is developing a television drama and Dr. James Andrews is helping him as a consultant, the Hollywood Reporter reports

Here's what you should know.

 

1. Mr. James sold a scripted project to SpringHill Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television about a "brilliant doctor who specializes in treating the world's greatest sports stars. Only when the doctor undergoes a health crisis, it forces him to rethink his approach to medicine with the help of a gifted sports psychologist."

 

2. Writer Matt O'Neill is going to write a pilot, after he consults with Dr. Andrews. Mr. O'Neill will be the executive producer and will be joined by writers Nicolas Falacci and Cheryl Heuton.

 

3. Dr. Andrews is one of the founding members of Andrews Institute for Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Fla. He is one of the leading orthopedic surgeons in the world, and his center is internationally recognized for its sports medicine treatment.

 

4. Dr. Andrews is the orthopedic medical director for the Tampa Bay Rays. He has treated several professional athletes throughout his career.
