Cleveland Browns' guard Joel Bitonio will be out for the season after having a Lisfranc surgery performed by Robert Anderson, MD, Cleveland.com reports.
Here's what you should know.
1. Mr. Bitonio suffered the injury against the New England Patriots on Oct. 9. It is the second season-ending injury he has suffered in his career.
2. Dr. Anderson is the founding member of the Foot & Ankle Institute at Concord, N.C.-based OrthoCarolina, He is nationally known as a foot medicine expert.
3. In addition to his practice, he is a past president of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
