Hand specialist Don Sheridan, MD, performed surgery on the Arizona Diamondbacks' Socrates Brito's finger on the same day the outfielder injured it during a game.

1. Mr. Brito sustained the injury while sliding headfirst into home plate during a Wednesday, March 9 game.
2. Dr. Sheridan performed surgery to repair an open dislocation on Mr. Brito's fourth finger on his left hand.
3. Mr. Brito's timetable for recovery has yet to be determined.
4. The young outfielder broke his toe in June 2016 and broke a bone in his hand in November 2016, according to SB Nation.
