Chicago White Sox reliever Zack Burdi will visit James Andrews, MD, to confirm an initial diagnosis of a tear in his ulnar collateral ligament, the Daily Herald reports.

1. Mr. Burdi was the White Sox's first round pick in the 2016 draft. He left a Triple A Charlotte Knights game on July 8 after experiencing some discomfort.

 

2. White Sox General Manager Rick Hahn said a physician initially diagnosed Mr. Burdi with the tear.

 

3. Mr. Burdi will visit Dr. Andrews to confirm the diagnosis.

 

4. Dr. Andrews is a founding partner of Gulf Breeze, Fla.-based Andrews Institute for Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine. He is one of the leading orthopedic surgeons in the world, and his center is internationally recognized for its sports medicine treatment.
