The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine named Charles Bush-Joseph, MD, president.
Here are five things to know:
1. Dr. Bush-Joseph is an orthopedic surgeon at Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and associate director of the Rush Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Program.
2. He is on the editorial board for the American Journal of Sports Medicine and has authored more than 140 published manuscripts and book chapters.
3. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Bush-Joseph is a team physician for the Chicago White Sox and associate team physician for the Chicago Bulls.
4. In 2012, Dr. Bush-Joseph served as the president of the MLB Team Physician Association and has served on the AOSSM board of directors for many years.
5. Dr. Bush-Joseph earned his medical degree at University of Michigan Medical School and completed his residency at Rush University Medical Center. He then underwent a fellowship from Frank Noyes, MD, at Cincinnati Sports Medicine.
