Bernard Bach, MD, of Rush University Medical Center in Chicago received the Robert E. Leach Sports Medicine Leadership award from the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine.

1. Dr. Bach is the past president of the AOSSM and the 44th recipient of the award.
2. For 30 years, Dr. Bach served as the Rush University Medical Center's sports medicine division director. He also served as sports medicine fellowship director for 28 years.
3. Currently, Dr. Bach serves as team physician for the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bulls.
4. Dr. Bach completed his fellowship in sports medicine at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
5. The leadership award is given to physicians who have made a significant contribution to the world of sports medicine and includes a $5,000 donation to the honoree's charity of choice.
