Miami Dolphins' quarterback Ryan Tannehill visited James Andrews, MD, and John Uribe, MD, the Miami Herald reports.
Here are four things to know:
1. Mr. Tannehill suffered a partially torn ACL and MCL injury last December. After consulting with physicians, Mr. Tannehill chose to undergo stem cell treatment at the time hoping to return to play this season. However, he left
training camp yesterday with knee pain and is consulting with physicians again.
2. Mr. Tannehill is expected to decide in the upcoming days whether he will opt for several weeks of rest and treatment or undergo season ending knee surgery.
3. Dr. Uribe is an orthopedic surgery at the Miami Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute.
4. Dr. Andrews is a founding member of the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Ala. He has expertise in ACL and MCL injuries.
