Dr. James Bradley performs ACL surgery on Eagles' quarterback Carson Wentz – recovery timeline still unknown

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz underwent successful ACL surgery performed by James Bradley, MD, according to 247 Sports.

Here's what you need to know:

 

1. It is still unclear when Mr. Wentz will return. Gulf Breeze, Fla.-based Andrews Institute for Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine's James Andrews, MD, said he believes the starting quarterback will return in nine to 10 months.

 

2. Los Angeles-based Cedars Sinai's Robert Klapper, MD, had other thoughts about Mr. Wentz' recovery time, noting it could be shorter due to how the quarterback suffered the ACL injury.

 

3. Dr. Bradley is a co-founder of Pittsburgh-based Burke & Bradley Orthopedics and is an orthopedic surgery clinical professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

 

4. Dr. Bradley has served as the Pittsburgh Steelers' health orthopedic surgeon for the past 28 years. He is currently the Chairman of the National Football League's Medical Research Peer Review.
