James Andrews, MD, will perform Tommy John surgery on Detroit Tigers' prospect Bryan Garcia, MLive Media Group reports.

1. Mr. Garcia is expected to have the surgery Feb. 15. He will miss the entire 2018 season.
2. Dr. Andrews is a founding partner of Gulf Breeze, Fla.-based Andrews Institute for Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine. He is one of the leading orthopedic surgeons in the world, and his center is internationally recognized for its sports medicine treatment.
3. Dr. Andrews is the Tampa Bay Rays' orthopedic medical director.
