Keith Meister, MD, will repair the torn ulnar collateral ligament of Oakland Athletics' pitcher Jharel Cotton in late March, MLB.com reports.

1. Mr. Cotton underwent two MRIs to confirm the diagnosis.
2. He will miss the entire 2018 season while rehabilitating from Tommy John surgery.
3. Dr. Meister is the head team physician for the Texas Rangers and director of Arlington, Texas-based TMI Sports Medicine.
4. He previously served as the head team physician for the NHL's Dallas Stars, the NBA D-League's Ft. Worth Flyers, Gainesville-based University of Florida Athletics and USA Hockey.
