Orthopedic surgeon Waldomar Roeser, MD, 83, died June 25, 2018.
Dr. Roeser specialized in sports medicine and knee and shoulder arthroscopic surgery. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan School of Medicine in Ann Arbor.
He served a 15-month tour of duty during the Vietnam War as an orthopedic trauma surgeon and was named brigade surgeon for the 9th Infantry Division in 1969. As brigade surgeon, he was responsible for delivering medical care to more than 30,000 people. He received the Bronze Star with Four Oak Leaf clusters for his military service.
Dr. Roeser served as chief orthopedic specialist for Ypsilanti-based Eastern Michigan University's athletic department and was inducted into the EMU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005.
