Bradford Currier, MD, performed spine surgery on Pittsburgh Penguins' forward Nick Bjugstad May 26, the team reported.
Three things to know:
1. Mr. Bjugstad will be sidelined for at least eight weeks and is expected to miss the remainder of the season if it resumes.
2. Dr. Currier repaired a herniated disc in Mr. Bjugstad's back at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
3. Dr. Currier is an orthopedic surgeon and an avid researcher. He specializes in solving clinical issues involving the spine.
