Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute hired Maria Kyriacou, MD, according to a Nov. 12 press release from Baptist Health South Florida.
Dr. Kyriacou specializes in non-surgical treatments for orthopedic problems with special interests including sports-related injuries, joint arthritis and musculoskeletal ultrasound, the release said. She was involved in stem cell, platelet-rich plasma and amniotic regenerative orthobiologic therapy.
She comes from Miami-based West Kendall Baptist Hospital, where she did a sports medicine fellowship, the release said. She received her medical degree from the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Ga., and did a family medicine residency at Phoebe Health in Albany, Ga.
