Neal ElAttrache, MD, will repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in the left knee of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, Sports Illustrated reported Nov. 30.
Mr. Burrow tore his ACL and MCL in a week 11 game against the Washington Football Team. Mr. Burrow is expected to need 12 to 14 months to recover from the procedure. Mr. Burrow was a highly acclaimed rookie and was selected as the first pick in the 2020 NFL draft.
Dr. ElAttrache is an orthopedic surgeon at Los Angeles-based Kerlan-Jobe Institute. He is the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Foundation board chair and program director for the Kerlan-Jobe Sports Medicine Fellowship.
He is the head team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Rams, as well as an orthopedic consultant to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks and PGA Tour.
