A sports medicine researcher's resignation and six more key industry updates since Feb. 11:
1. Jon Yoon, MD, performed back surgery on Philadelphia Flyers center Sean Couturier.
2. Orthopedic surgeon Brian Cole, MD, operated on the knee of Portland Trail Blazers forward Joe Ingles on Feb. 23.
3. Casey Batten, MD, was named medical director of the Adventist Health Simi Valley (Calif.) athletic training program.
4. Paul McCrory, PhD, an academic and physician specializing in sports neurology, resigned as chair of the Concussion in Sport Group following allegations of plagiarism related to an article on warmups published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
5. Jimmy Garoppolo underwent shoulder surgery on March 8.
6. James Voos, MD, the Cleveland Browns' head team physician, will be vice president of the NFL Physicians Society.
7. Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic Health System is developing an $11 million sports medicine and imaging center with ties to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
