Jeff Dugas, MD, took on the surgery of WWE wrestler Cody Rhodes on June 9 after Rhodes suffered a full tear of his right pectoral muscle during a weight training session on June 3.
In a statement, the WWE said that Mr. Rhodes initially suffered a partial tear of the muscle in a brawl a few days before the complete tear occurred.
Dr. Dugas is an orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist. He works at Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Ala. At the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, both professional and casual athletes look to for care.
Brandi Rhodes, Mr. Rhodes’ wife, gave an update which confirmed the success of the surgery.
