The board at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin has voted to extend its contract with Freeman Health System, also in Joplin, until 2034, according to a Sept. 6 report from KZRG.
The contract, which was originally signed in 2014, was set to expire in 2024 before a Sept. 1 meeting was called to discuss its extension.
Freeman Health will remain MSSU's exclusive provider for orthopedic care and sports medicine as well as the official healthcare provider for all students and faculty.
The agreement also includes Freeman's financial commitment to MSSU, including its financial support for marketing and athletic events.
