The Women and Girls Foundation of Southwest Pennsylvania honored Freddie Fu, MD, among others with the Special Award of Distinction for efforts in advancing women’s rights and opportunities, according to a Trib Live report. Dr. Fu is chairman of sports medicine and head team physician for the department of athletics at the University of Pittsburgh. He earned his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency and fellowship.
