Summa Health System is now providing team physicians for varsity athletic teams at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, beginning with the 2010-2011 academic year, according to a university news release.
The team physicians include director of the Summa Center for Sports Health Niles Shah, MD, director for the Kent State Athletic Training Education Program Tom Bartsokas, MD, James Goff, DO and sports medicine fellow Robert Crawford, MD. The physicians will perform daily injury checks, provide consultations and attend home events.
In addition to providing team physicians at Kent State, Summa is affiliated with the Akron Aeros and 17 area high schools.
