Kathleen E. McKeon, MD, joined Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Ala.
Dr. McKeon has a special interest in hand, wrist and upper extremity orthopedic surgery, sports injuries, fracture care, nerve injury, joint reconstruction and microsurgery. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. McKeon has a research interest in sports-related and general hand, wrist and upper extremities injuries. She's published several peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters over the past few years.
"I am excited about the opportunity to practice medicine in the city (Birmingham) in which I was born," said Dr. McKeon. "Being able to restore function to patients' hands and give them back their ability to work, care for their families and participate in the activities they enjoy is immensely rewarding."
Dr. McKeon earned her medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where she also completed her orthopedic surgery residency. Her additional training includes a hand surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
