Carolinas Hospital System's Center for Advanced Joint and Spine Care in Florence, S.C., received The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for hip and knee replacements, according to a SC Now report.
The Joint Commission’s Disease-Specific Care Certification Program is designed to evaluate clinical programs across the continuum of care. The center underwent a rigorous on-site review in May 2014.
"With Joint Commission certification, we are making a significant investment in quality on a day-to-day basis from the top down. Joint Commission accreditation provides us a framework to take our organization to the next level and helps create a culture of excellence," said Costa Cockfield, CNO at Carolinas Hospital System, to SC Now.
