Chicago's Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush Opens Concussion Clinic

Chicago's Midwest Orthopedics at Rush has opened the Chicago Sports Concussion Clinic at Rush to provide athletes of all levels with evaluation, treatment and medical clearance for sports-related concussions, according to a practice news release.

The clinic will include medical evaluations, neuropsychological testing, direct neurocognitive therapy and other treatment to ensure athletes have a safe return to their sports. The clinic uses the ImPACT neurocognitive and vestibular testing.

The clinic also aims to increase the awareness of concussions amongst athletes, parents and coaches. Jeffrey Mjaanes, MD, a primary care sports medicine physician with Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, serves as clinic director. Other specialists include sports medicine physicians, neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, physical therapists and behavioral therapists.
