Yet another MLB player will be undergoing Tommy John surgery to repair ligament damage in the elbow, but this time, a catcher instead of a pitcher.
Christian Vazquez of the Boston Red Sox will receive the surgery today from James Andrews, MD, who consulted with the team prior to the decision, according to The Milford Daily News.
Mr. Vazquez, who is considered one of the best defensive catchers, will likely miss the entire season, reports The Milford Daily News.
