Neal ElAttrache, MD, will perform elbow surgery on Los Angeles Dodgers' first-round pick Walker Buehler, according to a Los Angeles Times report.

Here are four quick facts:

 

1. After the Tommy John surgery, Mr. Buehler is expected to be out of action for 12 to 18 months.

 

2. Dr. ElAttrache is a prominent sports medicine surgeon practicing with Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.

 

3. He is also program director of the Kerlan-Jobe Fellowship.

 

4. He is the team physician for the LA Dodgers and is an orthopedic consultant for the LA Lakers and LA Kings.
