Robin West, MD, is going to be the new team doctor for the Washington Nationals, according to the Washington Business Journal.

1. Dr. West is a board-certified orthopedics sports medicine surgeon and the medical director at the Inova Sports Medicine Institute.
2. She will serve as lead team physician as part of an innovative and proactive model for predicting and preventing potential injuries and improving player health and wellness.
3. She has also been named to serve on the team's medical services advisory board.
4. Her previous work includes serving as the assistant team physician for the Pittsburgh Steelers and head team physician for several University of Pittsburgh sports.
