Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Tiger Woods is recovering from a recent surgery he had done for pinched nerves in his back.

Here are four takeaways:

1. Mr. Woods had two previous back surgeries in October and September of this year, both performed by Charles C. Rich, MD.

2. He said that he has nothing to look forward to, and that there's no timetable on when or if he will return.

3. His last major victory was seven years ago at the US Open in 2008.

4. Mr. Woods is one of the United States captain Davis Love III's assistants for the coming 2016 Ryder Cup, but he hopes to make it onto the team.
