The Illinois Athletic Trainers Association and the physicians at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush partnered to create Ankles for Life, a public awareness program.

Here's what you should know.

 

1. After seeing a 300 percent increase in Achilles injuries over the last decade, the two healthcare organizations saw a need for patient education.

 

2. Ankles for Life will provide athletes the tools to incorporate ankle injury prevention tactics into their workout and warm-up routines.

 

3. The fastest growing patient population is in active people between 30-years-old and 50-years-old.

 

4. Ankles for Life provides athletes with several techniques they can incorporate into their workouts to promote ankle health.
