James Andrews, MD, will inspect the knee of Kansas City Chiefs' running back Jamall Charles, NFL.com reports.
Here's what you should know.
1. Mr. Charles tore his ACL last year and was set to make his comeback last week. He suffered a setback last week, which caused him to sit out from the team's game on Oct. 30. As a precautionary measure the Chiefs are sending Mr. Charles to see Dr. Andrews.
2. Dr. Andrews is one of the founding members of Andrews Institute for Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Fla. He is one of the leading orthopedic surgeons in the world, and his center is internationally recognized for its sports medicine treatment.
3. Dr. Andrews is the orthopedic medical director for the Tampa Bay Rays. He has treated several professional athletes throughout his career.
