Russell LaFrance, MD, is joining the staff of River Hospital in Alexandria Bay, N.Y., The Watertown Daily Times reports.
Here's what you should know.
1. Dr. LaFrance is an orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty in sports medicine. He treats knee ligament injuries, rotator cuff repairs, arthroscopy and meniscus tears among others.
2. His career began after he earned his medical degree from the University of Buffalo (N.Y.). He completed his residency at the University of Rochester (N.Y.).
3. Dr. LaFrance has worked with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Kings.
4. He will see patients out of River Hospital's ambulatory surgery unit.
